Stitchmakers

Stitch Makers is one of the largest and most rewarding website projects I have undertaken to date. Referred to me by a neighbour who was a loyal customer, Belinda was already running a thriving bricks-and-mortar store filled with an incredible range of stitching, quilting, embroidery, and crafting supplies. After being asked why she didn't yet have a website, Belinda began looking for the right web designer, and we soon started working together to bring her vision online.

The project extended beyond website design to include the creation of a new logo and brand identity, providing a cohesive foundation for the business as it expanded into the online marketplace. What began as a conversation about creating an online presence evolved into a substantial eCommerce project comprising more than 100 pages and over 5,000 products.

The challenge was not only to showcase the vast range of products available but also to create a user-friendly shopping experience that would allow customers to easily browse, search, and purchase online. Through carefully structured product categories, intuitive navigation, and a strong focus on customer experience, the website transformed the business from a local retail store into a thriving online destination for stitching and crafting enthusiasts throughout New Zealand.

Working closely with Belinda was an absolute pleasure, and together we created a digital presence that reflected the warmth, expertise, and passion behind the Stitch Makers brand. Following the launch, online sales grew rapidly, significantly expanding the business's reach beyond its local customer base. To support this growth, I also established and managed Stitch Makers' social media presence during the first year, helping build brand awareness and drive traffic to the new online store.

The result is a comprehensive digital platform that combines branding, eCommerce, and social media to support the continued growth and success of the Stitch Makers business.
